EBEC (European BEST Engineering Competition) represents competition of more teams whose members are students that are trying to solve set problem in the best possible way, in terms of price, creativity and performance. Key points of success are good communication between team members, creativity and ingenuity.
The competition is usually organized into two categories:
Case Study – means solving a specific (set) technical problem in teams for a specific time. To solve the problem competitors come to a debate on a given topic within their team based on the acquired knowledge both at their faculties and on the basis of previous experiences within the subject. The solutions are ranked by the expert jury, based on which we estimate the winners of this category of competitions.
Team Design –means solving a specific (given) technical problem in teams for a specific time. To solve the problem competitors come with the help of the given material for work and coordination within the team. The product of this type of competition is a model that, by performance, appearance and materialization, supports the requirements, rules and guidelines of the competition task itself. The winner of the competition is proclaimed after testing each model individually and on the basis of success in the realization of the task, the jury proclaims the winner from this field of competition.
The EBEC Engineering Competition is held at three levels – local, regional and European.
Local Engineering Competition EBEC Niš
On this level of competition, participants are students from University of Niš. Winners are qualified for next level – regional competition. More info can be found on official site of EBEC local.
Regional Engineering Competition EBEC Balkan
This is second level and participants are winners of local engineering competitions from Novi Sad, Belgrade, Niš, Podgorica, Skopje and Mostar. More info can be found on official site of EBEC Balkan.

The local BEST group Niš has several successful engineering competitions, as organizer at the local level and as a participant in the Balkan regional (winner 2010) and the European level. Successful cooperation for mutual benefit has been achieved with companies, which have brought their activity closer to students and the problems they are studying through faculty education, which is the goal of engineering competitions.
